Flames engulf a portion of the rooftop of Le Paradise Palace Hotel in Al Rigga, Dubai, on April 16, 2025.

A fire broke out at Le Paradise Palace Hotel in Al Rigga, Deira, early on Wednesday morning (April 16), sending plumes of smoke from the rooftop and prompting a swift emergency response. A video shared by Dubai resident Jeezer Tatao showed flames seen engulfing the right wing of the hotel’s rooftop at around 7:30am. Dubai Civil Defence confirmed that their teams responded immediately and were able to extinguish the blaze before it could spread further. No casualties or injuries were reported. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. The incident is part of a troubling string of fires reported across the UAE in recent days. Just three days earlier, on Sunday (April 13), a deadly fire engulfed a residential building in Sharjah, killing five people and injuring 19. Investigators have found breaches in safety standards, and the building owner could face legal action. Also on April 13, a separate fire broke out in a fruits and vegetables warehouse in Sharjah’s Industrial Area 15. Civil Defence teams were able to bring the blaze under control, and no injuries were reported. With rising temperatures and fire-related incidents on the rise, authorities continue to remind residents and building owners to adhere to fire safety protocols. ICA/Expat Media
