Social media star and singer Abdu Rozik has been released from custody after being briefly detained at Dubai International Airport on Saturday (July 12) over allegations of theft, according to sources familiar with the matter. The 21-year-old Tajikistani influencer, known for his viral videos and music, was reportedly taken into custody shortly after arriving from Montenegro. Though authorities have yet to issue an official statement, Rozik’s management confirmed to Khaleej Times that he was "taken into custody on allegations of theft.” Hours after his release, Rozik appeared unfazed, posting a video of himself receiving an award at the India International Influencers Awards, which took place the same evening at Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights. The video made no mention of his earlier detention. An individual claiming to have filed the complaint told media that Rozik was released on bail with travel restrictions, though this could not be independently verified with officials. No further details have emerged about the nature of the theft complaint, and authorities have yet to comment on whether formal charges will be filed. As of now, Rozik has resumed his public engagements while remaining under investigation. Rozik, who stands just over three feet tall due to a growth hormone deficiency, has become one of the region’s most recognisable celebrities. He holds a UAE Golden Visa and has been living in Dubai for several years. He shot to fame through his music, online charisma, and reality TV appearances, including Bigg Boss 16. In 2024, Rozik made his boxing debut at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena and expanded his brand by launching his own restaurant, Habibi, in the UK. That same year, he was questioned by India’s Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering investigation involving a hospitality firm, although he was not named as an accused. ICA/CAM/Expat Media
