Dubai islands seen from International Space Station

  DUBAI – Instagrammable place on Earth? Scrap that. How about most Instagrammable place from space? Dubai’s islands recently captured the eye of astronauts at the International Space Station (ISS), which released photos of three man-made islands off Dubai on Wednesday (June 12). The photos were taken after the ISS crossed paths with the UAE coastline at an altitude of 419 kilometres. The ISS, on Instagram, published photos of the World Islands, Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali.
Nasa is reportedly planning to open the ISS to space tourists who will be able to enjoy a flypast holiday photo of the UAE from 400km in orbit. The cost of this spectacular odyssey? Dh183 million for a 30-day stay.
