Dubai Police have honoured a Jordanian resident for his honesty after he handed over Dh200,000 that he found in a public parking area. Mohammed Suleiman Al Qaryouti discovered the large sum of money within the jurisdiction of Bur Dubai Police Station and immediately turned it over to authorities. Brigadier Khalifa Khalid Al Awadhi, Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, together with Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ibrahim Al Awar and several officers, presented Al Qaryouti with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his integrity. Brigadier Al Awadhi praised Al Qaryouti’s actions, describing them as a reflection of the noble values that define UAE society. He said the recognition supports Dubai Police’s commitment to encouraging positive public participation and strengthening cooperation between the community and security authorities. The Brigadier also highlighted the important role residents play in enhancing the country’s image through meaningful collaboration with police and other government entities. For his part, Al Qaryouti said he did not expect recognition. He explained that returning the money was simply the right thing to do.
