The Dubai Police is expanding its presence by launching a floating police station off the coast of Dubai. A miniature display of the floating Dubai Police station was unveiled at the Gitex Global earlier this week. According to Dubai Police, its smart police station will have online services where users can check or report traffic offenses and criminal or financial crimes or apply for certificates and permits. Residents can use their Emirates ID for transactions, while tourists can use their passport. Users can also talk remotely to a police officer. The floating station will be located off the World Islands and will be open round-the-clock. The floating police station is the latest of its kind to be announced in Dubai. Last month, it was announced that a floating mosque will be built at the Dubai Water Canal. A floating garbage sweeper was also launched at Dubai Harbour Marinas in September. ICA/Expat Media
