Dubai has unveiled a plan to build AI-powered data centres to boost its digital economy. Approved by The Executive Council, this project is expected to add over Dh14 billion in value by 2028 and create new tech jobs. It is part of Dubai's Economic Agenda D33, which aims to improve productivity through digital innovation. "By future-proofing Dubai for the next generation of technologies, we are fostering a fertile ground for innovation that unlocks significant economic potential, aligned with the goals of the D33 Agenda," said Hadi Badri, CEO of Dubai Economic Development Corporation, the economic development arm of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. The plan involves teamwork between government and private sectors to get ready for new technologies like Web 3.0 and the Metaverse. Key areas include improving high-performance computing and using more renewable energy.
