  DUBAI – UAE Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched a Dh5-billion mixed-use project named Emirates Tower Business Park. The business park will be situated between Shaikh Zayed Road and Happiness Road, near the Emirates Towers and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Planners said the business park will have three five-star hotels, including a Jumeirah Group property, retail spaces, food and beverage units, and an arena and related facilities to host events and corporate functions. It will also have public parks, green spaces and two pedestrian bridges linking the business district to the DIFC. A three-level basement underneath the site will have 13,000 parking spaces. Construction of the project will start at the end of the year and will be completed in four years. The Dubai Media Office said in a statement on Tuesday that companies that will be setting up at the business park will benefit from DIFC's legal and regulatory framework. The media office also said the project will be developed by Dubai Holding with the DIFC and is in response to demand from international firms looking for Grade A space for their regional offices. DIFC governor Essa Kazim said, "It is our pleasure to work closely with Dubai Holding on this exciting development, which brings us a step closer towards our stated objective to triple the size of DIFC by 2024." Meanwhile, Shaikh Mohammad, who is also UAE Vice President, said: "The grand urban development projects which are being implemented across the UAE will strengthen our development strategy in various sectors and support our preparations for the future as part of the overall prosperity being experienced by the country under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan."
