The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to launch a new intercity bus route between Dubai and Sharjah as part of its effort to enhance connectivity and public transport efficiency across the emirates. Route E308 will officially start operations on May 2, linking the Stadium Bus Station in Dubai with Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah. The one-way fare for passengers is set at Dh12. Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, emphasized the strategic value of the new route. “Enhancing intermodal connectivity is central to positioning public transport as the preferred choice for mobility across the emirate,” Shakeri said. In addition to the new intercity service, RTA announced adjustments to 14 existing bus routes to improve passenger experience and operational efficiency. These include: • Route 17: Now ends at Baniyas Square Metro instead of Al Sabkha. • Route 24: Re-routed within Al Nahda 1. • Route 44: Now serves Dubai Festival City. • Route 56: Extended to DWC Staff Village. • Routes 66 and 67: New stop added at Al Ruwayah Farm. • Route 32C: Shortened route; use Route F27 to reach Al Satwa. • Route C26: Now stops at Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2. • Route E16: Ends at Union Bus Station. • Route F12: Rerouted via Kuwait Street, skipping Al Wasl Park. • Route F27, X92: Bus stops moved to Max Metro Land Side. • Route F47: Rerouted in Jebel Ali Industrial Area. • Route F54: Now serves JAFZA South labor camp. These improvements are part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to expand Dubai’s public transport infrastructure and better integrate bus routes with the Metro, Tram, and Marine services. ICA/Expat Media
