Dubai launches new travel forum to boost travel, tourism

The annual Dubai Tourism Summit, a first-of-its-kind travel forum in the area, has been announced by Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). The summit will lay the groundwork for a homegrown, top-tier thought leadership program to support local and international travel and the city's resurgent tourism industry. To build a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future for international tourism, the summit will offer industry stakeholders a networking platform to exchange their vision, ideas, strategies, and best practices. The DET additionally distributed the most recent tourism report for the first ten months of 2022. According to data, Dubai welcomed 11.4 million foreign overnight visitors between January and October, a remarkable increase of 134% year over year, moving the city closer to becoming the most popular travel destination in the world. Over 1,000 executives from the tourism ecosystem, including the aviation, travel, hospitality, and retail sectors, attended the DET's "City Briefing," which was held on Thursday. It was presided over by Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director-General of DET. Al Marri said, "The Dubai Tourism Summit will see us working even more closely with our domestic and global stakeholders and partners as we focus on pushing the boundaries further to highlight Dubai's position as the top international destination and the best city in the world to live in, work and invest. With the Dubai Tourism Summit, we will elevate our blueprint for sustainable growth, contributing towards our industry's continued success and supporting the recovery of regional and global tourism.
