Dubai Public Prosecution has introduced a new online service that allows defendants to conveniently pay their court fines and have travel restrictions lifted automatically. The Dubai's Smart Payment of Fines service saves time by reducing visits to service centers, saving over 300,000 working hours yearly. Dubai Public Prosecution's Director of Strategy and Institutional Excellence, Shamsa Al Marri, said that the digital platform for online fine payments, linked to criminal judgments, covers all legal proceedings conducted in person or in absentia. It allows immediate arrest warrant revocation through integration with Dubai Police. How the service works Upon receiving a verdict from a Dubai court, offenders are sent an SMS with the fine details and a payment link. Fines can be paid via SMS, kiosks or the prosecutors' website by logging in with a digital ID. Once payment is made, offenders will receive a text message confirming the termination of arrest warrants and travel bans. A link is also provided to download the cancellation notice.
