Dubai: Maid jailed after assaulting, attempting to push employer off an upper floor

After assaulting her employer, a 32-year-old maid was sentenced to a month in prison, followed by deportation. The African maid assaulted her Gulf-born boss and nearly shoved her from the house's upper story, which prompted the victim to call the cops. When her employer asked the maid to stay in her room until her husband returned from his trips and returned her to her recruitment agency, the maid refused and yelled at her. The employer tried to go upstairs to protect her children from being assaulted by the maid, but the latter grabbed her and dragged her down. The victim resisted the attack, resulting in forearm injuries. She stated that the maid attempted to shove her from the top floor, but she was able to phone a family member who came to her rescue. The accused denied the charge against her during the interrogation. However, forensic results and a medical examination form were determined to be consistent with the victim's allegation, and the accused was convicted. BKM/ Expat Media
