Dubai temporarily closes main bridges: alternative routes given

Motorists in Dubai are advised to consider alternate routes as temporary bridge closures go into force, especially those who commonly use the two main bridges in the Deira area. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) made it clear in a statement that Salik fees will still be charged to motorists crossing Al Maktoum Bridge while the Floating Bridge is closed. The Floating Bridge will be closed for five weeks starting Monday (April 17) to undergo maintenance work, according to the RTA. Motorists have been advised to use alternative highways and crossings, including the Infinity Bridge, Al Garhoud Bridge, and Al Maktoum Bridge. However, the RTA emphasized that the Al Maktoum Bridge will close to traffic at certain hours, coinciding with the shutdown of the Floating Bridge.

Al Maktoum Bridge

Throughout Ramadan, the Al Maktoum Bridge will close from 1am to 6am from Mondays to Saturdays. Alternative routes — Al Garhoud Bridge — Business Bay Bridge — Al Shindagha Tunnel — The Infinity Bridge
