Starting Friday (August 1), Dubai residents and visitors can hit their fitness goals in style—and air conditioning—thanks to Dubai Mallathon, a citywide fitness initiative led by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The initiative will see nine major malls across the city open early, from 7am to 10am daily, turning into safe, climate-controlled walking and jogging tracks until August 31. Participating malls include: • Dubai Mall • Mall of the Emirates • Dubai Hills Mall • City Centre Deira • City Centre Mirdif • Dubai Marina Mall • Dubai Festival City Mall • Festival Plaza • The Springs Souk The fitness initiative is part of Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to improve community health and wellbeing through inclusive and accessible programs. Race dates to watch out for: • City Centre Mirdif – August 9, 7am • Dubai Marina Mall – August 10, 7am • City Centre Deira – August 23, 7am • The Springs Souk – August 9, 7am “Every step you take moves us closer towards a healthier Dubai,” said Sheikh Hamdan. “We want everyone in Dubai to feel they can stay active and energised in welcoming spaces built with their needs in mind.” Dubai Mallathon is not just about hitting your step goals.
