Dubai: Man dies after seven people assaulted him with sticks, knives

A man was beaten to death with sticks and knives, and seven people have been charged with being involved in the crime. Six of them were sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Dubai Criminal Court, while the seventh man received three years in jail. The case details dated back to last January and took place in Dubai. A local homeowner stated that there was a confrontation on one of the side streets behind his home, and according to his account, he saw people attacking a man who was shouting and trying to escape the attacks. A policeman stated that a team of investigators was able to identify and arrest the accused attackers and that they admitted that they were involved in illegally trading alcoholic beverages in Dubai. The accused claimed that a disagreement arose between them and others, including the deceased victim, who also worked in the illegal trade in alcoholic beverages. The suspects said they hit the victim and intended to harm him but not kill him. According to the forensic report, the victim sustained injuries and cuts in many places of his body. The injuries placed additional stress on the heart, resulting in acute heart failure, ultimately leading to the victim's death. Apart from imprisonment, the attackers will also be deported after serving their sentence. BKM/ Expat Media
