A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment in Dubai after he was caught selling drugs to an undercover police officer for Dh400. The Dubai Criminal Court also imposed a two-year financial transfer ban. The arrest took place in May 2024, following a tip-off received by the General Department for Drug Control. Investigators discovered that he was in possession of crystal meth and was actively trafficking narcotics. A sting operation was set up, leading to his arrest in the Al Manqool area. Following his capture, police searched his residence and uncovered a stash of narcotics, packaging materials, and a digital scale. Laboratory tests confirmed that the seized drugs weighed over 100 grams and were in the UAE’s list of banned substances. The suspect later admitted to acquiring drugs from a foreign supplier via WhatsApp location-sharing. ICA/Expat Media
