A 43-year-old man was sentenced to one month in jail and fined Dh3,100 for visa fraud. A complaint was brought against him, alleging that he promised to be able to get residence visas for the victim and his family members at a low cost. He also stated that he had prior experience with this. The victim stated that the accused charged Dh3,100 for the visas and his services. He ceased replying to the victim once he received the money, evading his attempts to reach him. The victim's wife stated that she was also present when they gave over the money to the man. She went on to say that he requested them to wait a week while he prepared the visas. During the Public Prosecution's investigation, it was discovered that the offender had a long history and records of the same crime. He admitted to the crime and will be deported after serving his sentence.
