A man was reported to have jumped over a villa's fence, broken the outer door, and stolen valuable stuff from a house. The man stole a watch and jewelry valued at Dh400,000. In July, a gardener at a villa in Jumeirah Park found that the outer door was smashed and notified the owner. According to the owner, when the owner arrived at the house, he discovered that the steel safe had gone missing. He said the safe contained jewelry and a watch belonging to his wife, who was out of town. A team of investigators gathered evidence and examined CCTV cameras in the vicinity. They tracked down and apprehended the suspect. During interrogation, the accused admitted to the theft and stated that he ensured the villa was empty before jumping inside and breaking the outer door. He went on to say that he discovered the steel safe and transported it in a vehicle. The accused also said that he opened the safe in his house, where he found the precious items and posted the items on the second-hand goods website. A person showed interest in the items on the website, so he sold the items for Dh60,000. The defendant was sentenced to a year in prison and fined Dh360,000 by the Dubai Criminal Court. He will be deported after serving his sentence. BKM/ Expat Media
