A 40-year-old man was convicted of shooting through the window of his brother's room with a pneumatic pistol. The incident happened around 5 am. The victim was in his room in a villa in a neighborhood of Dubai when his brother fired three rounds at the victim's bedroom window with a weapon meant for shooting birds. The accused denied firing the rounds on purpose. He claimed to have been standing at the entrance of his room, overlooking the house's yard, when he fired two or three rounds into the sky. He explained that he did it to see if the pistol still worked after not using it for a long time. He went on to say that the victim made no noise at the time and that it was not his aim to threaten his brother. The case was referred to criminal court by the Public Prosecution because the accused committed an act that threatened his brother's life. The court sentenced him to two months in prison and ordered firearm confiscation. BKM/ Expat Media
