Dubai: Man kills friend who insulted the suspect’s mother

An Asian man was accused of killing his friend by striking him on the head with a stick in the presence of another friend. The court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to prison in absentia, followed by deportation. A body was reported to be on a sandy area near Ras Al Khor in January, according to a call to the Dubai Police Operations center. According to the court file, the witness denied involvement in the crime and asserted that the first defendant had a problematic relationship with the victim. The witness further stated that they drank alcohol at the sandy lot on the day of the incident. Soon after, there was an argument between the accused and the victim. He claimed that the suspect, who is currently at large, was angry with the victim because he had disrespected his mother. The victim was then repeatedly struck in the head with a piece of wood by the accused, who then ran away, leading to the victim's death. BKM/ Expat Media
