Dubai: Man, woman scams job seekers with a fake job ad
An Asian man and woman scammed job seekers by posting a fake job advertisement. The accused advertised a position in a perfume business in the free zone. The man was fined Dh600, jailed for one month, and deported, while the wife was fined Dh2,000. The Asian victim spotted the post and contacted them about the job offer. The accused requested a copy of his resume, passport, and identification. Following that, they asked that he transfer Dh600 so that they could complete the necessary documentation. However, when the victim did not receive a response from the accused and discovered that they had blocked his phone number, he suspected a scam. The man then called the cops. The accused were apprehended by the police and referred to the Public Prosecution in Dubai, who subsequently took them to the Criminal Court.
