Dubai International Airport passengers were treated to a special surprise as Dubai marked the 15th anniversary of its iconic metro system. To commemorate the occasion, 10,000 LEGO-themed Nol cards were distributed, and travelers received a unique stamp in their passports. The initiative, led by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), celebrates the role of the Dubai Metro in transforming the city’s public transport landscape. Launched on September 9, 2009, the Dubai Metro has since become an essential part of Dubai’s identity, connecting millions of residents and tourists to key destinations across the emirate. Lt. General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, said the initiative symbolizes Dubai’s ongoing commitment to modern and sustainable transport solutions. "The Dubai Metro not only enhances mobility but also reflects the city’s future aspirations of being a smart and sustainable hub," he added. The free Nol cards, distributed at airport terminals 1 and 3, enable passengers to easily explore Dubai by metro, offering a seamless connection between the airport and popular city attractions. This effort is part of Dubai's vision to make transportation more accessible and efficient for both visitors and residents.
