Dubai Metro line to partially close on weekends

  DUBAI – A portion of the Metro Red Line between Jumeirah Lakes Towers Station and Ibn Battuta Station will be partially closed every Friday and Saturday between July 28 and October 14 for extension work. The metro line will be extended to the World Expo site in Dubai South. Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Rail Agency director for rail operation Mohammed Al Mudharreb assured metro riders that free shuttle bus service will operate between the two stations during the partial closure. Al Mudharreb said: "Metro commuters heading towards the UAE Exchange station need to get off at JLT station, take a free bus ride to Ibn Battuta station and then continue their journey by metro in the direction of the UAE Exchange station." "Metro riders travelling in the direction of Al Rashidiya station need to get off the metro at Ibn Battuta station, take free bus rides to JLT Metro Station and then continue their journey on the metro in the direction of Al Rashidiya station," Al Mudharreb added.
