Dubai Metro Music Festival to return on Wednesday

The Dubai Metro Music Festival will return from March 16-22, according to Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), in conjunction with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Local, regional, and worldwide performers representing a variety of musical genres will give live musical performances at Dubai Metro stations throughout the week-long celebration of global music. The Festival is part of the ongoing #DubaiDestinations promotion, which highlights the #DubaiArtSeason's extraordinary experiences, events, and activities. From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., a diverse group of 20 musicians will perform at five Dubai Metro stations: Expo 2020 Dubai, Jebel Ali, Mall of the Emirates, Burjuman, and Union. Metro riders, who are a microcosm of Dubai's culturally diversified population, will be treated to a delicious feast of enthralling musical performances involving string, percussion, wind, and other unique instruments. The Metro Music Festival symbolizes the quintessential spirit of cultural diversity and inclusiveness that lies at the heart of Dubai's character, said Shaima Al Suwaidi, City Branding Manager, Brand Dubai and that it will bring distinctive notes of creativity and beauty to the pulse of urban life, in line with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai's ambition to make Dubai one of the world's best places to live and visit. They have anticipated that the Festival's second edition, which debuted in 2019, will attract even more metro passengers and music fans. The Festival is also expected to increase Dubai's prominence on the global cultural map as a showcase for artists and musicians from all over the world. Traditional and experimental artists, street performers, classical instrumentalists, and fusion musicians are among the Festival's vibrant lineup of musicians, all of whom are considered among the most gifted performers defining the future of music in their respective nations. The Festival's performances, which will feature unique instruments and quirky musical styles from both traditional and non-traditional forms of music, are expected to draw a large crowd.
