Dubai Metro station at JLT to have new air-conditioned walkway

DUBAI - A new air-conditioned walkway will link the Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre (DMCC) metro station (formerly JLT station) in two locations at the Jumeirah Lakes Towers area. The walkway will make it easier for commuters to travel to and from the metro station in air-conditioned comfort. There are more than 100,000 people who live or work in JLT. More than 5 million passengers passed through the DMCC station in the first half of this year. The planned walkway to the busy metro station will offer direct access to and from Almas Tower and Uptown Dubai in JLT, said Ahmad Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of DMCC, the master developer of JLT. No details were immediately available about the planned walkway, but it is expected to be similar to the walkway connecting Ibn Battuta Metro station with Ibn Battuta Mall, or with air-conditioned walkways that connect metro stations with Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates.
