The Mashreq Metro Station in Dubai is now called InsuranceMarket Metro Station. RTA
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially renamed Mashreq Metro Station as InsuranceMarket Metro Station. The renamed metro station, located on Sheikh Zayed Road between the Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Internet City stations, will bear the new name for the next 10 years, the RTA confirmed in a statement on Thursday (September 5). This renaming is part of Dubai's broader initiative to involve private sector companies in its public infrastructure projects. Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of the RTA Rail Agency, emphasized that this partnership reflects the city’s commitment to fostering economic growth through collaborations with private entities. The initiative aligns with Dubai's goals to support corporate branding while enhancing its global competitiveness. “The collaboration with InsuranceMarket.ae serves as a model for a successful public-private partnership,” said Kalbat. “It not only creates job opportunities but also allows the private sector to support the government’s direction in boosting Dubai’s economy through strategic ventures.” In line with this transition, the RTA has begun updating outdoor signage and is working to modify the public transport network’s smart and electronic systems. This includes new audio announcements within metro carriages, which will be gradually implemented from September to November this year. Commuters are being advised to take note of the new station name and can reach out to RTA staff for assistance during the transition period. Since 2009, the RTA has granted naming rights to major corporations. Notable examples include the renaming of Al Safa Metro Station to Onpassive Metro Station in 2023 and the rebranding of Dubai Marina Metro Station as Sobha Realty Metro Station in 2021. Other stations like Al Jaffliya, now known as Max Fashion, and Al Rashidiya, renamed Centrepoint, are part of this trend. These partnerships allow companies to tap into unique advertising opportunities while contributing to Dubai's evolving transportation landscape. Kalbat noted that metro stations offer an innovative platform for corporate entities to market their services and products, helping them grow their presence both locally and internationally. Avinash Babur, founder and CEO of InsuranceMarket.ae, expressed pride in this landmark collaboration. “Having one of Dubai's iconic metro stations bear our name is a significant milestone for InsuranceMarket.ae. We look forward to the positive impact this collaboration will have on both the residents and visitors of Dubai,” he said.
