An illuminated mosque in Dubai. BRAND DUBAI
Four of Dubai’s most iconic mosques are dazzling worshippers and visitors alike this Ramadan with breathtaking light displays as part of the Anwaar Dubai initiative launched by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Media Office. For the first time, advanced lighting technology has been used to illuminate Jumeirah Grand Mosque, Al Khawaneej Mosque in Al Habbai, Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Mosque in Al Hudaiba, and Zabeel Grand Mosque, transforming their façades into stunning visual spectacles every night throughout the holy month. The artistic light displays cover the entire structure of each mosque, including domes and minarets, adding depth and vibrance to their already magnificent architectural designs. The lighting effects also extend to the floors surrounding the mosques, creating a fully immersive experience. Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, emphasized how this creative initiative aligns with the emirate’s vision of integrating art, technology, and cultural expression into public spaces. “Through ‘Anwaar Dubai,’ we aim to enhance the spiritual and cultural ambiance of Ramadan while also celebrating the architectural beauty of Dubai’s mosques. This initiative is a reflection of Dubai’s commitment to innovation and community engagement,” Al Suwaidi said. Dubai residents and visitors are encouraged to witness these spectacular transformations, which will continue throughout Ramadan.
