Authorities in Dubai have proposed introducing a system to teach new drivers about reporting minor traffic incidents on the police app. The Dubai Police app now includes a feature for reporting accidents without needing a patrol to arrive at the site and assess the damages. This was revealed at a meeting between Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to discuss traffic safety and measures to improve it. When a minor accident occurs (one that does not result in injuries), the drivers involved are obligated to relocate the vehicle to the shoulder area. They can use the Dubai Police's 'simple accident report' app. They can upload photos of the damage and their license numbers and request a report that can be sent to the insurance companies concerned for claims. Top police and RTA officials highlighted how this would help minimize traffic congestion and save drivers' time. BKM/ Expat Media
