Dubai will activate two new Salik tollgates on Sheikh Zayed Road from November 24, located at Business Bay and Al Safa South. This expansion brings the total number of tollgates in Dubai to 10, anticipated to ease congestion and improve traffic flow in high-density areas. According to Salik, the new tollgates are strategically placed to divert vehicles onto alternate routes, decreasing congestion on main roads. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) anticipates several benefits: the Business Bay Gate is projected to reduce traffic on Al Khail Road by 15 percent. Meanwhile, the Al Safa South Gate will lower congestion on Sheikh Zayed Road by 4 percent. The Business Bay Gate is valued at Dh2.26 billion, while the Al Safa South Gate is valued at Dh469 million, collectively expected to boost revenue by up to 8 percent in 2024.
