A 70-year-old Pakistani expatriate in Dubai was sentenced to three years in prison followed by deportation after a parking argument turned violent, leaving a 34-year-old Indian man permanently disabled. The incident occurred on February 8 last year in Dubai's bustling Tecom area, where parking spaces are often in high demand. What started as a verbal disagreement quickly spiraled out of control, ending in injuries. Court documents revealed that the Pakistani man, angered by the Indian man's attempt to claim a parking spot he had eyed, pushed him during their altercation. The Indian man fell, fracturing his left leg's tibia. Subsequent medical reports detailed nerve damage, muscle atrophy, and a 50 percent loss of functionality in the leg. In retaliation, the Indian man struck the Pakistani on the head, leaving him unable to perform daily tasks for 20 days. Both were arrested on the spot as witnesses alerted authorities. Forensic reports and testimony from bystanders played a crucial role in the Dubai Criminal Court's decision to convict the Pakistani man of physical assault and causing a permanent disability. During his defense, he admitted to pushing the Indian man but claimed provocation. The Indian man, meanwhile, faces a separate case for assault at the Dubai Misdemeanour Court.
