Dubai parking via WhatsApp happening soon

DUBAI – Motorists will soon be able to pay parking fees using WhatsApp, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced. Ahmed Hasan Mahboub, director of parking at RTA, said the WhatsApp service will be available within two weeks. The WhatsApp number to use will be 7275. Mahboub said the WhatsApp parking service will help motorists save 30 fils, which is charged if they pay for parking via SMS. “An enhancement has been made to our smart application to have a map to help people find where they have parked so they can pay the correct fee,” Mahboub said. A QR code can also be scanned to open the parking zone. iPhone users can key in their registration number and pay via ApplePay. As for the RTA parking app, an auto renew service has been added to allow people to automatically renew their parking ticket. ICA/Expat Media
