A petrol station attendant in Dubai extinguishes flames on a truck. Dubai Police

Alert petrol station attendants have averted disaster after extinguishing a fire in a truck that drove into the facility. Dubai Police shared CCTV footage of the incident. Dubai Police said that the incident happened at an ENOC station in Dubai’s Lahbab area. The footage shows the petrol station workers jumping into action as soon as a white Mitsubishi truck rolled into the petrol station, flames engulfing the area near its left tyre. It appeared that the truck driver was oblivious to the fire on his vehicle, and only alighted from the truck after a second attendant came to help put out the flames. A third attendant helped extinguish the flames with another fire extinguisher, and the fire was eventually put out within minutes. The Dubai Police has given certificates of appreciation to the fuel pump attendants to recognize their heroic efforts. Lieutenant-Colonel Rashid Muhammad Salem, director of Lahbab Police Station, praised the workers for their professionalism in handling the incident.
