The Dubai Police Department has added a new feature to their app that allows women and children to send an SOS during an emergency. The app's 'Protect Child and Woman' feature can be accessed with a single click. Women and children in distress can tap the option in the app. Their location is automatically detected, and the complainant must slide right to confirm it. The police department announced the new feature during a press conference on Wednesday about app updates. A high-ranking official warned people not to abuse the feature or use it to test the police response. The police app has received over 4 million downloads. Over the last three years, the app has processed over 2.1 million transactions. The new version of the app, according to Hessa Al Balooshi, director of Dubai Police's Smart Applications Department, "comprises a premium set of seven features and 70 developed services that utilises the most recent programming languages, methodologies, and artificial intelligence."
