Dubai Police have dismantled a criminal network that used a villa in Dubai as a base for drug operations, arresting two Asian men and seizing 40 kilograms of narcotics in a meticulously planned sting dubbed "Operation Villa.” Brigadier Khalid bin Muwaiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, said the operation reflects the force’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and preventing narcotics from reaching the community. “Operation Villa demonstrates Dubai Police’s relentless efforts to track, intercept, and dismantle the plans of drug dealers and smugglers attempting to spread their poisons among young people,” Brig. bin Muwaiza said. The operation began after intelligence reports confirmed that a criminal group was distributing drugs from a residential villa. Police formed a special task force to conduct surveillance and field monitoring, tracking the suspects’ movements and their attempts to evade capture. The breakthrough came when one gang member was arrested after being lured into a police trap. He later confessed, revealing the identity of his partner. A second raid soon followed, where the accomplice was caught red-handed packaging drugs. Interrogations revealed that both suspects were working for a gang leader based abroad, who directed their operations remotely. Police recovered 40 kilograms of drugs, including ketamine, crystal meth, marijuana, hashish oil, and chemical substances. Brig. bin Muwaiza credited the success to Dubai Police’s integration of artificial intelligence technologies and the expertise of its officers. He emphasized that the force will continue to strike hard at criminal networks, even if their masterminds operate from outside the UAE. He urged residents to play their part by reporting suspicious activity through the 901 hotline or the “Police Eye” feature on the Dubai Police Smart App. “Community cooperation is vital in our ongoing fight against drugs,” he added.
