Dubai Police have arrested a seven-member gang involved in international drug trafficking and seized nearly 26 kilogrammes of narcotics and 27,913 Tramadol tablets during a major anti-narcotics operation. Brigadier Khalid Bin Muwaiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, said the suspects, all Asian nationals, were part of a syndicate directed by a trafficker outside the UAE. Police tracked their movements following weeks of surveillance. Investigators raided the residence of the first suspect, where crystal meth was found. “We set up a tight trap which led to the arrest of the remaining six suspects, including those who placed the drugs in the locations and those who came to collect the hidden quantities,” Brig. Bin Muwaiza explained. The seized drugs included crystal meth, hashish, heroin, and marijuana. Police said the gang distributed narcotics in different locations to evade detection, often working with an international network abroad. Bin Muwaiza praised the advanced system of operations employed by Dubai Police, which combine artificial intelligence tools with highly trained personnel. “This operation reflects our efficiency and professionalism to detect and confront crime in all its forms,” he said.
