The Dubai Police received 1.2 million calls to its emergency hotline 999 in just three months, state news agency WAM reported. Of the 1.2 million calls to the 999 number from April to June, 99.6 percent were answered within 10 seconds, according to Dubai Police. The average time that police reached “extreme emergency” scenes was just 2 minutes and 33 seconds, and for non-emergency cases it was 10 minutes and 45 seconds. Meanwhile, police urged the public to only call 999 for emergency cases, and to call 901 for non-urgent calls. ICA/Expat Media
