Dubai authorities have helped crack down a major Scottish criminal network as part of a coordinated global operation targeting organised crime and money laundering. According to Dubai Police, a key member of the notorious “Lyons Clan” was arrested upon arrival at a Dubai airport after an Interpol Red Notice was issued against him. The arrest was carried out in coordination with the UAE Ministry of Interior. The operation formed part of “Operation Armorum,” an international crackdown led by Spain’s Guardia Civil. Authorities said the joint effort led to the arrest of 14 individuals across multiple countries. The operation involved close coordination between several international agencies, including Europol, the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. Investigations revealed that the network was involved in drug trafficking and money laundering across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. It used shell companies and complex financial systems to conceal illegal proceeds.
