Divers from Dubai Police made man’s day after they retrieved an expensive Rolex watch that he thought was lost forever in the sea off Palm Jumeirah. The incident was reported to police by an Emirati man onboard the yacht. He told police that his friend was swimming when his Rolex watch worth Dh250,000 slipped from his wrist. Police then sent a team of divers to the site. They searched the seabed and were able to locate the luxury watch. People onboard the yacht cheered the divers for their effort. This is not the first time that Dubai Police helped tourists and residents retrieve valuables from the waters. In January, police recovered a Russian tourist’s iPhone 14 Pro from the Hatta dam. In 2019, police also helped retrieve an expensive watch that fell off a tourist’s wrist as he was having lunch at a restaurant on Palm Jumeirah overlooking the sea. ICA/Expat Media
