Dubai Police has impounded 11 vehicles involved in an unauthorized car parade, with the drivers facing multiple violations for reckless behavior, endangering public safety, and disturbing the peace. The police released video footage on Saturday (September 28) showing participants standing out of car windows and waving flags during the illegal event. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said that the participants committed several infractions, including reckless driving, organizing unauthorized rallies, and modifying vehicle engines and chassis without permission. The drivers also disrupted road traffic and caused disturbances in residential areas by littering and creating disorder. The impounded vehicles will remain in police custody, and the drivers involved will face fines and other legal repercussions. Under Dubai’s traffic law, anyone found guilty of reckless driving and endangering lives can expect severe penalties, including a Dh50,000 fine to release an impounded vehicle. Major General Al Mazrouei reiterated Dubai Police’s commitment to maintaining road safety and taking decisive action against those who violate traffic laws. He encouraged residents to report dangerous driving or other illegal activities via the “Police Eye” feature on the Dubai Police app or by calling 901. ICA/Expat Media
