A total of 720 certificates have been issued to vehicle owners in Dubai following recent heavy rainfall across the UAE, according to Dubai Police on Sunday (March 29). The certificates, requested since Monday (March 23), are intended to support motorists in processing insurance claims and arranging repairs after their vehicles were damaged during the weather conditions. Authorities said residents can apply for the certificate through the Dubai Police website or smart application by selecting the “Natural Disasters” option under the Certificates Package and uploading photos of the damage. After submitting the request, vehicle owners are required to present their vehicles at the nearest police station for inspection. Once verified, the certificate is issued electronically, typically within one working day. The service was introduced following several days of unstable weather that affected parts of the UAE. During that period, some roads experienced flooding, leading to traffic congestion and instances of vehicles becoming stranded in rising water levels.
