A Filipina traveler’s social media post about a Dubai Police officer’s unexpected act of kindness at Dubai International Airport Terminal 2 has gone viral, inspiring netizens across the UAE and beyond. Charlene Andrade, a Dubai-based Filipina, shared her story via Facebook on Tuesday (September 2), expressing gratitude for the officer’s generosity. In her post, Andrade recounted how she was waiting for her visa clearance at Terminal 2 and was not allowed to enter the departure area, where restaurants are located. Only vending machines were available in the waiting area—but they accepted cash only. “Since I usually don’t carry cash (where almost everywhere accepts card or online payments in Dubai), I honestly didn’t expect this situation,” Andrade wrote. Finding herself unable to buy food, Andrade approached a Dubai Police officer to ask if there was a way she could withdraw money. His response, she said, left her humbled. “He kindly explained that he couldn’t allow me inside, but instead, with true generosity, he offered me Dh100. I was hesitant to accept but he sincerely insisted, understanding my situation,” Andrade shared. She ended her post with a heartfelt thank you to the officer: “So to that Dubai Police officer who helped me, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity, sir. I am deeply grateful.” The post quickly gained traction online, with more than a thousand reactions, shares, and comments praising Dubai Police for their compassion and professionalism.
