An Arab tourist who forgot Dh76,000 in a taxi on his way back to his hotel from New Year celebrations got his money back, thanks to the quick action of Dubai Police. According to Dubai Police, the money was returned to the tourist within 30 minutes after he reported the incident through the Tourist Police Service on the Dubai Police app. The Dubai Police received the report at 2am on January 1. The tourist said the cash, in dirhams and dollars, was kept in a bag that he left behind in the taxi. General Khalafan Obaid Al Jalaf, Director of the Tourist Police Department of the General Directorate for Investigations and Criminal Investigation, said that police were immediately able to locate the taxi that took the tourist to his hotel. The official praised police as well as the taxi driver for their cooperation and professionalism in making sure that the bag containing the money was returned to the tourist. ICA/Expat Media
