Dubai Police have confiscated 210 motorcycles and scooters and issued 270 traffic violations in a week-long crackdown targeting reckless riding across several areas of the emirate. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commandant for Operations at Dubai Police, said the operation reflects the force’s commitment to maintaining public safety. “This commitment aligns with the directives of the wise leadership to enhance the quality of life and ensure a safe and stable environment for all residents and visitors,” he said. Officers conducted intensive patrols in areas including Al Khawaneej, Al Nad Al Shabaab, Jumeirah Street, and Al Qudra, where riders were found engaging in disruptive and dangerous behavior. Violations included creating loud noise, driving against traffic, and operating motorcycles on highways—all of which put riders and other motorists at risk. Al Mazrouei said police will not tolerate actions that “jeopardize safety or disrupt public order,” stressing that the confiscation of motorcycles and e-bikes is part of ongoing measures to reduce severe accidents and promote responsible road behavior. He urged young riders to follow traffic laws and warned that penalties apply to anyone who operates a vehicle dangerously. He also addressed parents directly: “Minors must refrain from operating motorcycles without a valid license… a lack of awareness about their children’s unauthorized driving does not absolve parents of responsibility.” Dubai Police encouraged the public to report dangerous riding through the “Police Eye” feature on the Dubai Police app or via the “We Are All Police” hotline at 901.
