Dubai Police have seized two high-end sports cars and fined their owners after videos showed them dancing on the bonnets of moving vehicles in a bid to gain social media followers. The viral clips show one man stepping out of a slowly moving black sports car before leaping onto the bonnet and dancing, while another video shows a similar stunt on a purple sports car. Brigadier Juma bin Suwaidan, acting director of the traffic department at Dubai Police, condemned the actions, saying they endangered the lives of both the perpetrators and other road users. “Both vehicles were seized and the pair should pay Dh50,000 each to recover them from detention,” he said. “Dubai Police won’t stand still against such reckless behaviour on roads. Posting the clips online will not justify committing traffic offences that endanger the lives of others. Public roads are not for stunt performances.” The force urged the public to report similar incidents through the Police Eye service or by calling 901. ICA/Expat Media
