Dubai Police has seized a vehicle after its driver was caught on camera with a child on his lap while driving. The incident was flagged by Dubai Police’s smart detection system, which actively monitors road violations. Under the UAE Federal Traffic Law, children under 10 years old and shorter than 145 cm are prohibited from sitting in the front seat of a vehicle. Police have warned that such reckless behavior significantly increases the risk of severe injuries in case of an accident. The driver faces a Dh2,000 fine, 23 black points, and a 60-day vehicle impoundment under UAE traffic regulations for driving in a manner that endangers lives.
