The Dubai Police has summoned a gang of girls who were caught doing illegal motorcycle stunts on the emirate’s highways. The group was arrested after a video of them riding motorcycles recklessly went viral on social media, said Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police. Al Mazroui said the girls were seen "riding without holding the handlebars, standing on the motorcycle, and riding on one wheel". "Moreover, one of the motorcyclists concealed the number plate of the motorcycle, believing that this action would help her evade legal consequences," he said. Watch the video here: The motorcycles have been confiscated and the girls have been given several traffic violations. Under the UAE traffic law, reckless driving is punishable with a fine of Dh2,000, plus 23 black points in the driver’s traffic file, as well as a 60-day impoundment of the vehicle.
