As the UAE celebrates its 53rd National Day, Dubai Police has issued a stern warning to ensure safety and decorum during the festivities, cautioning violators with fines of up to Dh50,000 and vehicle impoundment. The guidelines aim to create an orderly and enjoyable environment for all residents and visitors participating in the Eid Al Ittihad celebrations. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Acting Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, stressed the importance of adherence to traffic and public safety rules. “ Key guidelines include refraining from organizing random parades, adhering to traffic regulations, and complying with instructions from police officers. Dubai Police emphasized that vehicles must not obstruct license plates, alter colors, or apply unauthorized stickers except for those officially approved for National Day. “Covering vehicle windows with stickers or using sunshades that impair visibility is strictly prohibited. Likewise, performing stunts or adding unlicensed modifications that cause noise pollution are considered serious violations,” Al Mazrouei added. Motorists are not allowed to carry more than the permitted number of passengers for their type of vehicle and must ensure that they do not obstruct traffic, cause a noise disturbance by revving their engines, or drive recklessly. Individuals are not allowed to hang out of windows or sunroofs. Police will also monitor pedestrians for jaywalking and spray painting on drivers. Al Mazrouei highlighted that these violations are addressed under Decree No. 30 of 2023, which mandates vehicle impoundment for offenders. “For the release of an impounded vehicle, violators may face fines of up to Dh50,000,” he warned. To support smooth celebrations, Dubai Police have finalized comprehensive traffic management plans in coordination with external partners. These include the deployment of patrols to prevent congestion, respond swiftly to emergencies, and deter reckless driving.
