Dubai Police have issued a warning against fraudsters who target residents by falsely promising work visas in exchange for money. The warning was recently issued by the Anti-Fraud Centre under the General Department of Criminal Investigation, which said scammers often make false claims without any legal basis or official approval. Authorities urged residents to complete visa applications only through official government authorities or legally accredited offices, and to verify all documents through authorised channels. As part of its ongoing anti-fraud campaign, Dubai Police stressed the importance of public awareness and vigilance, reminding residents not to trust unofficial intermediaries or online advertisements offering quick or guaranteed visas. The centre said visa details should always be verified through official platforms, adding that dealing with unlicensed agents increases the risk of financial loss and legal trouble. Dubai Police urged anyone who encounters suspected fraud or attempted scams to report it immediately through the Dubai Police smart app, the eCrime platform, or by calling 901. Authorities said timely reporting helps prevent others from becoming victims and supports ongoing efforts to combat fraud across the emirate.
