Dubai Police has issued an urgent warning to residents, advising them not to approach or touch debris from intercepted missiles following recent incidents across the UAE. In an SMS alert sent on Thursday (March 26), Dubai Police said: “For your safety, do not approach, touch or photograph any debris or objects that have fallen as a result of successful air interceptions, and allow the relevant authorities to assess the situation.” The authority added: “While some objects may appear harmless, interacting with them may pose safety risks. Your security is our happiness.” This follows an earlier advisory from the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, calling on the public to stay clear of any locations where debris or suspicious objects may have fallen. “We call on the public to immediately stay clear of any locations where debris or suspicious objects have fallen, and to refrain from approaching or photographing them, in order to allow the competent authorities to carry out the necessary measures,” NCEMA said. Authorities said such precautions are necessary to allow specialised teams to secure the area and carry out safety procedures without disruption. Officials warned that even when missiles or drones are successfully intercepted, falling debris can still pose serious risks on the ground. Large fragments, shrapnel, or even unexploded materials may fall from the sky, creating potential danger to people and property. Recent incidents have highlighted these risks, with falling debris reported to have caused deaths and injuries in residential areas, as well as damage to vehicles and buildings. Authorities continue to advise residents to remain cautious, avoid areas where debris has fallen, and rely only on official updates for information. ICA/Expat Media
