Dubai Police is revolutionizing forensic investigations with a cutting-edge facility on Tunisia Street, expected to be completed by 2026. Designed to reduce examination time drastically, the facility aims to deliver results with 95 percent accuracy. Second Lieutenant Hassa Al Bloushi revealed the advanced capabilities of the new pathology lab. “We are reducing examination time from 48 hours to 12 and autopsy duration from 10 days to just two hours,” she said. Equipped with virtual autopsy technologies and advanced CT scans, the facility will handle up to 20,000 cases annually. It will also introduce forensic nursing, offloading 40 percent of tasks from forensic doctors to streamline operations. The facility’s design, inspired by the human body, adheres to third-degree security standards, enabling it to manage critical cases and disasters efficiently. Its 475-body storage capacity, including 75 units for infectious cases, marks a significant upgrade. Additional features include 14 high-tech autopsy tables and an expanded lecture hall for 150 attendees, enhancing training and research capabilities.
