Workers were seen repairing cracked walls and giving a fresh coat of paint to a building in Dubai’s International City on Tuesday (April 23) as property developers offered free services in communities under their management. This follows a directive from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, for all real estate developers and residential management companies to offer free support to those affected by last week’s adverse weather conditions. The free services include alternative housing for affected residents, interior cleaning services, home repair, distribution of food in affected communities, pest control services and enhance security, among others. International City, managed by Nakheel, is one of the communities that experienced flooding during torrential rains on April 16. As of Tuesday, most of the roads were cleared of flood and debris. Expat Media also spotted a team of workers clearing eroded sand that had built up near a roundabout.
Emergency response teams have been working round-the-clock to restore normalcy across Dubai. The Dubai Crown Prince had said he will personally monitor the progress of response measures across the city, and emphasized that on-ground teams will provide effective support to all citizens and residents.
Sheikh Hamdan also directed the Dubai Land Department and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency to coordinate with property developers to quickly restore normalcy in all communities managed by the developers. ICA/Expat Media
